Supply Chain
Sourcing Simulator Version 2.2
$750 [TC]² members and non-members
This unique software tool allows you to analyze manufacturing, retailing and sourcing strategies like quick response, target weeks supply, vendor managed inventory, model stock, newsboy and traditional manufacturing to see the financial and service level performance implications. The Sourcing Simulator will calculate the impact of product mix, markdowns, manufacturing lead times, vendor performance, forecast error, seasonality and consumer demand. It is easy to use, with quick results, and runs on Windows 95/98/2000/NT and XP.
The Sourcing Simulator has SKU specific pricing for all types of products and over 30 performance results like sales, inventory turns, lost sales, gross margin and GMROI. The Retail/Manufacturing Version 2.2 includes manufacturing planning, costs, collaboration policies, and 3D graphing using neural network fuzzy logic.
Sourcing Simulator Training Video
$100 [TC]² members and non-members
Basic Training – Understanding the Merchandising Process
Several case studies using the Sourcing Simulator are provided to highlight its capabilities. Scenarios for evaluation are defined including inputting the buyer’s plan, sourcing strategy, cost/price data, consumer demand, markdowns and promotions, and forecast error. An explanation on how to execute the simulation, save results and analyze the results is provided, and a case study is included to reinforce the learnings.
Advanced Training – Analyzing the Manufacturing Supply Chain
The advanced training tape shows how to graph results, as well as performing break-even analysis, examining detailed outputs, performing batch runs, using the decision surface model and exercising the manufacturing model. Included in the manufacturing model instruction are material supply, inventory policies, cost data, manufacturing plan and processes. The Help facility is explained and a case study is included.
The Sourcing Simulator CD is required to follow the instruction and perform the case studies.

Time Study Rating Skills (CD-ROM)
$295 [TC]²; members / $395 non-members
Available in English and Spanish - (Windows 95/98 or NT)
Advance beyond the ability to record the time it actually took to perform a task and learn to determine the amount of time it should take. This program offers a consistent, affordable training tool for the industry and a refresher for experienced personnel to maintain accuracy and consistency in rate determination.
This program will give you the opportunity to:
• Learn speed rating for sewing operator performance analysis
• Practice rating sewing operator performance
• Learn to correct for rating bias
These techniques are learned using repeatable Benchmark Exercises of the following videotaped activities:
• Card dealing 52 cards in 30 seconds (for hand/arm motion)
• Walking 3 mph (for full body motion)
• Sewing operations at different efficiencies
Exercises may be repeated as often as desired with the video clips appearing in random order each time. Standardized rating scores appear only after the student has viewed the entire sequence. The program includes definitions as well as additional reference information for a multi-factor rating system that includes skill, effort, and conditions.
The Penville Plant™ Kit
$395 [TC]² members / $495 non-members

The kit provides a hands-on, interactive opportunity for apparel manufacturing managers, apparel manufacturing engineers, apparel designers or line personnel to understand three different types of manufacturing systems. Participants in the Penville Plant exercise produce ballpoint pens using the Push, Kanban and Team Systems of manufacturing. Guiding participants through the transition from traditional batch manufacturing to demand-flow manufacturing that uses teamwork and cross-trained employees, the Penville Plant Kit™ vividly demonstrates how the use of flexible manufacturing methods can result in greater efficiency and productivity over more common manufacturing methods.
The Textile Game
$500 [TC]² members and$600 non-members, $250 for additional sets

The Textile Game is a supply chain competition among two or more teams to achieve the best pipeline performance by managing orders, inventory and backlogs. The board game consists of four players per team and demonstrates that the system structure rather than personal capabilities can dominate system performance. As an alternative to purchasing the game sets, [TC]² also offers to facilitate the Textile Game with up to twelve teams at any location.
