In this last Technology Communicator of the year, we would like to share some of [TC]²’s 2008 milestones. We have remained committed to investigating technologies and industry trends, and sharing this information with our readers.
A significant event for [TC]² in 2008 was the company’s relocation to a new office. After fifteen years at the Gregson Drive location, the company moved to a 22,000 sq. ft. building containing ample conference room areas, a demonstration center and technology development labs, along with office space for its 35 staff members.
In addition to the relocation, other 2008 accomplishments include:
The 150th scanner in [TC]²’s market leading NX series of 3D full body scanners was shipped. The scanner is being adopted not only for shape analysis for garment selection and apparel development, but also for health/medical, fitness management, anthropometric surveys, and a variety of research applications.
The fourth annual SizeUSA User’s Group Meeting, which focused on research projects underway at a number of universities, and different methodologies for conducting shape analysis utilizing the data. [TC]² presented its avatar creation addition to the measurement extraction software, which will be included in 2009 installations. The Hosiery Center discussed the use of SizeUSA data in developing hosiery standards.
Proprietary shape analysis projects conducted by [TC]² researchers for major brands utilizing SizeUSA data, including a study incorporating seated pose scan measurements.
