Textile & Sewn Products Industry Week 2010 Launched with Powerful Co-Location of Key Established Trade Events

Techtextil North America, SPESA Expo, and ATME-I/MEGATEX reach landmark agreement to co-locate and align in Atlanta in 2010.

Atlanta, GA (USA) –The organizers of the three key industry trade shows in the Americas – ATME-I/MEGATEX, SPESA Expo, and Techtextil North America – have jointly announced that they have reached a landmark agreement to co-locate and align their trade shows at the Georgia World Congress Center, Atlanta, GA on May 18-20, 2010.

The three shows will take place in adjacent halls during the same dates, providing tremendous value for textile and sewn products industry professionals at all levels of the textile and sewn products manufacturing and application supply chains. This new event will create a truly “must attend” industry event for the Americas in 2010. Atlanta is a vibrant international hub which is easily accessed by exhibitors and visitors alike, providing the perfect setting for such a significant industry gathering. The city itself boasts world class trade show facilities, hotels, and infrastructure combined with Southern-style hospitality.

The co-location and alignment means that attendees will be able to move freely between the individual shows and benefit from the industry-leading educational and networking seminars and special events all in the same venue.

Speaking at the launch of the co-location, Benton Gardner, Executive Vice President of SPESA, said: “The changes we have witnessed in the global sewn products industry have convinced us more than ever that all segments of the industry must work together to remain competitive. The co-location of SPESA Expo, Techtextil North America, and ATME-I/MEGATEX provides a unique opportunity for visitors to see leading exhibitors that supply the full spectrum of their production needs. Visitors will gain the “under-one-roof” convenience to see first-hand all the products and services they need to successfully operate in this changing world. These visitors convert fibers, wovens, knits, nonwovens, leather, and more into the products used around the world. Bringing multiple segments of the industry together at one time, in one place helps the industry maximize its growth opportunities by combining exhibitions, educational and networking opportunities, and exposure to new business strategies.”

David Audrain, President of Messe Frankfurt USA, organizers of Techtextil North America, added: “This co-location will provide the greatest possible value to attendees and exhibitors at all three shows, by creating the biggest combined textile industry event in the Americas.”

Speaking on behalf of ATME-I, American Textile Machinery Association (ATMA) Chairman and President of Morrison Textile Machinery Company, Mr. Jay White, Jr., commented: “The co-location of ATME-I/MEGATEX with Techtextil North America and SPESA Expo provides a dynamic platform for the textile industry in the Americas. We expect excellent customer attendance from the entire textile processing and applications chain. This will be a very significant event for our industry with numerous networking opportunities, educational seminars and business and technical workshops alongside the trade shows themselves. Anyone who is in the textile business in the Americas should recognize that this is a ‘must-attend’ event.”
