SizeUSA Completes Data Collection SizeUSA has completed the data collection portion of its national sizing survey, with over 10,500 individuals scanned in thirteen cities across the U.S. Body measurement data on scan subjects will be grouped by gender, six age ranges, and four ethnic groups. Additionally, participant demographic information will be available in categories such as income, education, shopping preferences, and others.
Using [TC]²'s safe white-light based 3D body measurement technology, sizing data was captured and the anonymous data will be analyzed and summary results provided for an understanding of the population's body shapes and sizes. Dissatisfaction with apparel fit is a major issue for shoppers. A comprehensive, valid size and shape survey of the U.S. population has not been done for over 30 years. The resulting data analyses from this study will benefit both manufacturers and consumers.
The study is jointly sponsored by industry and the U.S. Dept. of Commerce. Data analysis reports will be available by December 2003. To obtain more information, visit www.sizeusa.com .
